Hale Makai Cottages, one of Kauai’s more sought after Vacation Rentals. Five oceanfront cottages on a 1.5 acre property of tropical gardens. Located in Haena, at the northern most section of the island on Kepuhi Point Beach. The property includes a jungle barbeque pit for family dinners, large lawns where kids can safely play away from the water and views of the ocean and neighboring mountain ranges that lead into the Napali Coast. Unlike other rentals, our goal is not only to provide you with a place to stay, but to give you knowledge about the island that only the locals know: The Best Snorkeling, The Surfing Hot Spots, The Most Beautiful Trails including information regarding the Native Plants and Fish, Swimming, Camping etc. Our Explore Kauai site is regularly updated to provide you with an opportunity to blend in with the island life. Each cottage has a full kitchen, dining area, living room, one to two bedrooms complete with cable TV, DVD players, Free Internet Access. Every cottage has one private parking space in front of the Hale Makai Gate. Furnished with modern style, we invite a tiny bit of the city along with you for sleek uncluttered comfort in paradise. Hale Makai Cottage # 1 is surrounded by a bed of tropical vegetation, Birds of Paradise, Palm Trees, Red Ginger and Spider Lilies, it is an idea Hawaii accommodation for small families and Honeymooners looking for a more private space on the property. This isolated corner of the garden lets children play safety away from the water with visual supervision from inside of the cottage. Hale Makai Cottage # 2 is a spacious two bedroom directly by the sea. The rising sun shines right into the master bedroom, setting the stage for a glorious day on the island. The second bedroom has serene garden views, including the ocean, with the constant sounds of the surf in the background. The cottage is very private with a beautiful Lanai (deck) towards the ocean and full view towards Hanalei Bay Pier and the Pu’u Poa Beach. The stairs from the Lanai lead directly to a small sitting area right in front of the beach. The perfect spot to see all the beauty that Kauai has to offer. Hale Makai Cottage # 3 overlooks the garden setting and the ocean. With the hammock in full view our guest feel invited to relax and slow down. The teak furniture on the front lawn of Cottage # 3 creates a comfortable outdoor living area. The ocean surf and the wind in the palm trees and the NaPali in the back make it a Zen retreat. Hale Makai Cottage # 4 is positioned uniquely within the garden setting of the grounds. The ocean view is stunning from the interior living area as well as from the Lanai (deck). The private and exclusive backyard of Cottage # 4 adds a very romantic and sheltered outdoor experience with full views of the NaPali. The Cottage is surrounded by Tee Trees, Plumerias (The Hawaiian Lei Flower), Red Ginger, Heliconias and Orchids. Hale Makai Cottage # 5 feels like a plantation revival. It’s Fung Shui is calming to the soul. French doors flood the cottage with light and provide unobstructed views from the ocean all the way to the back of the property. Two luxurious bathrooms will add romance and wellness to the stay. The protected Lanai (deck) towards the garden with views of the NaPali adds an old fashion Hawaiian style outdoor dining and living area, the best place to socialize and to drink a Mai Tai.

| TO SECURE A BOOKING: In order to secure your booking we require a 50% deposit. The deposit is payable by personal check, money order, Visa, or MasterCard. Deposits paid by check must be received within 1 week of the e-mailed confirmation to secure the reservation. Reservation without deposits will forfeit the booking. The remainder of the payment is due 90 days prior to arrival for all Holiday and Summer bookings and 60 days prior to your arrival for all other bookings. In addition to the rental charges there is a $140.00 cleaning charge for one bedroom cottages and $160.00 cleaning charge for two bedroom cottages. This cleaning charge is to be paid directly to the Kauai Cleaning services once on the island. We require a security deposit, which is due with the remainder of the rental payment. (90 Day policy applies to: Easter / Spring Break, Summer break June through August, Thanksgiving, Winter Break mid December through mid January) |

SECURITY DEPOSIT: We require a security deposit for all cottages. For bookings up to 10 days the security deposit is $500.00. For bookings longer than 10 days and/or with more than 5 occupants we require a security deposit of $1,000.00. For bookings longer than 20 days we require a security deposit of $2,000.00. Bookings of 3 or more Cottage require a Ground Protection Deposit in the amount of $500.00, which is fully refundable providing the property is left in the same condition as it was prior to check-in. At all times indoor / outdoor furniture and structures are to be left in the same areas and positions as prior to arrival. Kitchen equipment belongs to each individual cottage and needs to remain in place. The Security and/or Ground Protection Deposits are refundable within 2 weeks of check-out in full, unless funds must be deducted to cover damages or various maintenance. MINIMUM STAY: There is a 4 day minimum stay for all cottages, exceptions can be made if booking calendar permits CLEANING SERVICES: The check out cleaning fee per cottage is handled separate from the rental charges: $140.00 per one bedroom cottage, $160.00 per two bedroom cottage. Any stay longer than 7 nights will require an interim cleaning, at the cost of $60.00 per one bedroom cottage and $80.00 per two bedroom cottage. The interim cleanings will be arranged through Hale Makai Cottages. Upon request, additional cleanings can be scheduled prior to arrival at an additional charge. Check-outs requiring deep cleaning will be charged separately, delinquent cleaning payments will accrue a $50.00 processing fee. |
Ideal spot for our honeymoon Matthias and I cannot thank you and Hale Makai enough for a perfect stay in your sublime location. We are sure we chose the ideal spot for our honeymoon, not just Ha'ena but Hale Makai. You have the service down to an art, from the elegant details to the privacy to the ease and friendliness to the nice balance of simplicity and elegant comfort. Words cannot express how much we loved it. I'll also add that you are very reasonably priced for all that you offer, like being right on a beautiful, secluded, reef protected beach, luxury details et al. Coming across some of the other places we had considered while we were roaming the north shore, I saw that they were twice the price merely because they were in more posh neighborhoods. But where you are is sweeter, closer to the ocean and to pure nature, and much more our style. We made the right choice! By the way, we didn't end up snorkeling at Tunnels because an avid snorkeler we met out in front of H.M. there on Kepuhi said that the coral was much healthier right where we were! For we who are deeply involved in environmental concerns, who find ourselves living in a place (L.A.) where the issues are how to bring the "patient" out of critical condition as it were, it was a true pleasure to be in a place where the issues are more "preventive medicine." Thank you for being part of that "preventive" care that can keep the beautiful place protected from the darker tendencies of human behavior!!
